Ticketing and access-control for a 55,000-seat national arena
A multi-app ticketing platform built for Arena Bishkek (55,000 seats) and the wider Kyrgyz events market. Nine front-end surfaces (consumer web/iOS/Android, organizer dashboard, venue ops console, admin/T&S, gate scanner iOS+Android, in-venue vendor POS) over a microservices backbone (auth + identity, catalog, order, payment, fulfillment) routed through Envoy/Kong. Pre-MVP, targeting the arena's October 2026 opening.
The Challenge
Building the access-control and ticketing infrastructure for a 55K-seat venue from zero. Ticketing platforms in the region take 15-25% per ticket and don't integrate with local payment rails. Existing access-control hardware doesn't ship to Kyrgyzstan. Whatever we build has to handle a sold-out event night where 55K people arrive in 90 minutes β without melting.
The Solution
We're architecting a full-stack platform: native iOS/Android consumer apps for tickets and walletless entry, gate scanner apps for fast NFC/QR check-in, organizer dashboard for event management with real seat-map editing, venue ops console for night-of operations, and a vendor POS for in-venue concessions. The backbone is a microservices mesh (auth, catalog, order, payment, fulfillment) communicating via gRPC behind an Envoy/Kong API gateway β chosen specifically so we can degrade gracefully when one service is overloaded.
The Results
Demo-ready milestone hit: 8 events seeded, auto-login flow, /me tickets page. Architecture documented end-to-end. Tracking the Arena Bishkek opening (~2026-10) as launch deadline.
